American reporters picked up a link that went to a Chinese forum that was selling Hillary Clinton’s deleted e-mails for $200 million.
The website said the hackers had been spying on many top level American politicians e-mail accounts and had copies of all of Clinton’s messages before her team deleted the “personal” e-mails.
Chinese hacker Xiong Wang-lo told BBC, “We hack almost all American and foreign politician e-mail accounts. They do the same to us. It’s easy to do and we do it as a hobby.”
“This is the first time we are selling it for money. It will be well worth the money to whoever buys them.”
As proof that the Chinese hackers had all the e-mails, they released several documents that the FBI had already seen and one that had been deleted prior to the probe into mishandling classified information when Clinton was Secretary of State.
Trump’s team said they are certain the hackers do have the 20,000 deleted e-mails and are willing to negotiate a reasonable price. “I’m sure between the Trump team and several worldwide news organizations, we can pool the money to make these e-mails available for the public to view,” said Trump advisor Thomas Stewart. “What was she hiding? Why did she delete so many e-mails? For two hundred million dollars, and Donald Trump will get a better deal on the price, there has to be some damaging stuff in there.”
The FBI is conducting an investigation into a recent string of Chinese hackings into high-ranking American political figures.
The Clinton campaign said the e-mails are not worth $200 million. “Hillary had nothing to hide when she deleted the e-mails, so two hundred million dollars is a lot for some useless e-mails,” said a Clinton campaign staffer. “You can trust Clinton, you can trust Clinton, you can trust Clinton.”
