New Amazon Kindle Will ‘Float’ For Hands Free Reading

shutterstock_349789280Amazon is developing a new Kindle e-reader that will be able to float for hands-free reading named the Kindle Air.

A platform device can be placed on a bed, desk, or lap, and the Kindle will be able to float up to 18 inches above the platform.

In a recent patent filed by Amazon, it describes how the apparatus works via magnets and a certain ionized electronic frequency. It allows the alloys in the Kindle Air to float perfectly still above the Platform

One of the developers at Amazon told TechCrunch, “It’s awesome. You can lay in bed and read without using your hands. An optical scanner will also swipe to the next page when you are done with the one you’re reading.

“It’s really the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. And it works! We’ll be showing it off soon, I really can’t wait!”

Several prototypes are finished and are being tested. Amazon is preparing for the Kindle Air to be released for Christmas 2017. The retail price will be under $300.00. The platform and kKindlewill be replaceable.

There are rumors that the Kindle will be constantly charging when using the platform.

Amazon is high on levitation technology right now. The Kindle is light which makes it easy as an entry product. But they want to expand it to the Echo and other home products where levitation makes sense.
