Coachella Attendees Reporting Symptoms Of The Zika Virus

shutterstock_200494427As thousands left the desert back to reality, many are reporting symptoms of the dreaded Zika Virus.

Dozens have gone to Los Angeles County hospitals to be screened or the virus after coming down with flu-like symptoms.  The previous week before Coachella saw unusual rainstorms that helped hatch millions of mosquitoes.

Festival goers said it was the first time they had ever seen mosquitoes at the event.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is worried about the global attraction of Coachella and what will happen when they go home to Europe and Asia.

Sally Hatch, of Cleveland, Ohio, told The Cleeve Press, “I’m pretty sure I have Zika. I’ve been reading about it on the internet and I’m sure I have it.”

It takes a few weeks to know if people did contract Zika and CDC scientists have been capturing and studying mosquitoes from over the weekend to try to get quicker results.

With sexual activity common among music festival goers, there is concern over the babies that may have been conceived and don’t plan on being aborted.
