As a campaign promise, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is vowing to make all prisons privately owned.
“We need prisons that hold the worst of the worst, to be as cost effective as possible and what better way than to put the cells into the hands of private companies,” Cruz told reporters. “With growing violence, we will need more prisons. To help save the taxpayers money, they need to be private. Markets always run the best.”
“Everyday, dangerous dope dealers are trying to murder and rape your family. These degenerates will be put behind bars. Every single one,” said Cruz. “Hillary Clinton wants to release these drug dealers. She is basically saying ‘I don’t care if you get raped and murdered.”
“I’d also like to thank our men and women who work these prisons for keeping us safe at night. You will always have my support when I’m president. You can be sure of that.”
Donations by Prison Tech, the country’s largest private prison company, donated to the tune of $4.8 million to Ted Cruz’s campaign.
Cell Mate Sucka
The Democratic side is very much against private prisons.
“Private prisons have been the bane to the African-American community in many Southern States. They incentivise police to arrest low-level, non-violent criminals, and place them in jail with a kickback to their police force,” said Democratic hopeful Bernie Sanders. “It’s a scam.”
“Hillary Clinton just recently cut ties with private prisons.”
