Nearly 18% Of Trump Voters Own A Smartphone

trup supportersIn an exit poll study of Donald Trump voters, 18% currently use a smartphone as their mobile device. 73% of Americans use a ‘smartphone’ as their primary device.

72% of Trump voters either use a ‘flip-phone’ with no internet connectivity or do not own a mobile phone of any kind. Flip-phones were the dominant form of the cellular phone until 2011, five years ago. Yet, 4 out of 5 Trump voters use one in the present day.

Smartphone ownership was highest among Democrats with 68% of voters. Republicans scored 53%. The pollsters blamed this on more old people voting Republican and poorer people voting for Trump.

Bernie Sanders scored the highest among smartphones owners with 76% and Hilary right behind with 72%. Ted Cruz scored a 58% and John Kasich with 61%.
