The Golden State Warriors attended the White House to meet President Obama for their 2015 NBA Championship. Stephen Curry was given permission to walk around the White House grounds with proper identification after the official ceremony when Capitol Hill Police apprehended the MVP basketball player after assuming he was an intruder.

Curry was not injured in the tackle and apprehension but was extremely embarrassed by the situation. The police were extremely apologetic and Obama apologized for the incident.

It was a “big misunderstanding,” said officer Joe Franklin. “Stuff like this only happens when a basketball or football team visit the White House. We always have to be on guard for anything suspicious. This is real life, not The West Wing TV show.”

Curry said he understood why. “Maybe I walked to far for their comfort. A new time shift started or something.”

Obama joked, “There is a real reason why they call it the White House, trust me.”
