Celebrity and part-time actress Lindsay Lohan has contracted the Zika virus according to her publicist, and it wasn’t from sexual contact.
If it were from a mosquito, it would be the first non-sexual Zika case in the United States. Lohan had been traveling, but showed no symptoms for several months. She did contract the rare Chikungunya virus in 2014. And another celebutante, Paris Hilton, nicknamed Lohan ‘firecrotch’ because of other ‘diseases’ she might have been spreading around Hollywood.
A representative for Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said, “I hope she’s lying and it was sexually transmitted. We are assuming she is lying, and that’s how she contracted the virus. If she is positive for Zika, she better seek professional help and quick.”
The CDC also reminded people not to panic and that contracting the virus is very rare. If you have symptoms, get checked out by your doctor or other medical professional. Pregnant woman pose the most risk from the terrible virus.
Some celebrity experts think it could be a publicity stunt to drum up attention for the actress, who has fallen out of the spotlight for some time. TMZ worker Todd McTom told People Magazine, “We haven’t heard or seen her for some time. Maybe she finally got her life together, but we doubt it. I have a bet on it. Plus, her publicist put out the statement, so that could give it away.
“We want to see the medical records saying she does have the Zika virus, and then we’ll spend more time and money to cover the story.”
