sean penn el chapoAfter Sean Penn unknowingly led to Mexican drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman’s arrest, the Hollywood actor enter the Witness Protection Program.

The actor was able to schedule a meeting with a notorious drug lord who had recently escaped from a Mexican prison. Through the meeting, Mexican Federales were able to locate El Chapo’s location and apprehend him after a deadly gun fight.

The United States is awaiting the drug kingpins extradition to America to face charges on massive illegal drug distribution indictments.

The FBI recommended Penn enter the protection program for the next four years. A person does not need to join the program forever and can say no, but the FBI is required to offer the service to those they feel lives may be in danger.

In this case, Penn accepted the offer. “It will be a cool experience I can make a movie after. Four years isn’t that long; I had to deal with Bush in the White House for eight,” said Penn. “It will strange to be away from the spotlight for a while, but I’ll be able to create a new me and I’ve always wanted to try that.”

This gives Penn the time he always wanted to write his memoirs.

Penn taped an episode of Charlie Rose on Thursday that airs this Sunday and it could be the last time you see the actor for several years.

With thousands angry Mexican gangsters potentially after Penn, many average people are wondering why the multi-millionaire can’t afford his own security. FBI agent Richard Richie told Variety, “Being rich and being protected isn’t the same thing. Hiding is more than money.

“I assure you, we are the best in the world at what we do. Sean will be in very good hands.”

This will be the FBI’s largest protection effort to date. “Him being a celebrity obviously makes this process harder. We also need to think about his family and friends.

“Fortunately, many of his friends don’t seem to like him much so that won’t be too much of a problem.”

The project name is Emilio Estevez. “He’s been in the program for years without being found so I believe we can do it again with Sean Penn.”
