Michigan Gov. Snyder To Donors: “Lead Isn’t Going To Make Flint Residents Anymore Retarded”

rick snyder 1Talking to a group of rich white donors, Michigan Rick Snyder said, “A bit of lead isn’t going to make Flint residents anymore retarded than they already are. That wouldn’t be possible.

“They were doomed once they were born in that town, let’s be honest.”

The group of donors at an expensive breakfast in Ann Arbor laughed at the Governor’s joke, but regular Michigan residents were not amused.

Snyder has been entangled in a drinking water scandal where some poor decisions led to Flint residents drinking water with lead levels exceeding the FDA minimum. Even after the alarming findings, the lead water continued to be in use. Only after 16 months of tests did the state start recommending that Flint residents drink bottled water or buy special filtrations systems to filter out the lead.

To save money, Flint stopped buying water from Detroit and began using the Flint River water that has been polluted since the industrial age and contains higher salt levels that began eroding the old water pipes, releasing lead into the drinking water.

Michigan residents began calling for the governor’s resignation and now are calling for his arrest, including Flint native and documentary filmmaker, Michael Moore.

“Lead is not even remotely funny,” said Moore. “These are criminal activities Governor Snyder involved himself in. He should be arrested for knowingly poisoning Michigan residents, including children, where lead ingesting can severely harm mental growth.”

100,000 people were drinking the lead infused water.

  • Christopher Hannan

Nice guy…Welcome to Republican America, where your Governor conspires to kill you….

    • Dan107

Yeah, and he just signed a new law making it illegal to talk about it. Welcome to democracy, Michigan style.

      • Antonio Brent

Maybe, but any federal judge would rule such a law as unconstitutional. Besides, was the governor overseeing Flint’s finances when they stopped buying water from Detroit?

        • AL Whitmon

I thought no court would uphold dismissing elected officials and installing a “financial manager”. That is not democracy.

          • Zed Mezcalhead

This is hell on earth personified. He still gets to go home to his big ol’ house and sleep in his comfortable bed, resting his head on his goose down pillow. I’ll tell you what, if that man dies a natural death, there is no justice in heaven.

        • Parker Gabriel

Hopefully, that meant impeachment and conviction of BOTH the state Governor AND the state LIEUTENANT Governor for high crimes, yes?

          • Antonio Brent

Two problems: first, the Lt. Governor cannot be held responsible for the actions of the governor. Second, this would only be valid across the board, so Obama and Holder for treason (fast and furious) and gun running, Baby Bush and Rumsfeld for war crimes, Clinton is safe, and papa Bush and Reno for murder (Ruby Ridge/ Branch Davidians).

          • Robyn Ryan

            That’s not how it works.

          • Antonio Brent

I know it isn’t how it works; I said it is how it should work.

          • Dartsblaster2011

            (1) Janet Reno was Attorney General under the administration of William J. Clinton, not Papa Bush. So you might want to do some history checking before ranting about alleged crimes.

          • Antonio Brent

You’re right. Sorry, but the years blend any more. However, that just means Clinton isn’t safe in this scenario; papa Bush still has Ruby Ridge (more precisely, the unarmed mother)

          • NIMBY

Actually Antonio, if you did some simple research under “gunwalking” you would find that Bush (the lesser) started that program, not Obama and Holder.
Also, Ruby Ridge/Branch Davidians was a public service, not murder IMHO.

          • Antonio Brent

Interesting, since Holder admitted to selling the guns. Regardless of who started a program, it is the one that screwed the pooch that is blamed (in this case, Holder, although I was no fan of either Bush).
As for Ruby Ridge/ Branch Davidians being a public service, couldn’t the same be said for any time a cop executes a criminal? Government-sanctioned murder is never a public service; if it is, then why can’t any cop that shoots an unarmed suspect to death claim he was performing a public service?

      • LazerBeam007

You are not free to speak as a public or private employee if you have been ordered not to do so by your supervisor or manager, because anything you say on the forbidden subject is detrimental to the agency or entity by definition and insubordination is an immediately terminal offense. So, for example, Florida Department of Environmental Protection staff member Bart Bibler was terminated for expressing his personal opposition to the Keystone XL Pipeline Project at a meeting on revising Florida’s Coastal Zone Management Plan to reflect the threat of unnatural sea level rise in violation of Governor Rick Scott’s unwritten policy that though shalt speak nought of climate change or global warming and can only refer to unnatural sea level rise as nuisance flooding. Bibler was terminated after being suspended for being unfit for duty.

The exception is if you are blowing the whistle on an illegal or dangerous activity. The reality is that such whistle blowers are marginalized, harassed, abused, reassigned, demoted and terminated for substandard performance, when they had been rated good, better or best by the same supervisor before in previous annual reviews.

That is why we need to strengthen whistle-blower protections.

        • Emm Vee

I thought we lived in the USA where we have freedom of speech.

          • LazerBeam007

You have the right to speak your mind, and your employer has the right to sanction, suspend, or terminate you for cause if what you say harms your employer in any way.

          • Emm Vee

            Oh.

          • Antonio Brent

With restrictions. Anything reported to the government, or talking about unions on break or lunch in non-work areas is not supposed to be punished.

          • OUR12

Freedom of Speech sometimes has consequences, I certainly hope Snyder’s speech has consequences.

          • Robyn Ryan

            freedom isn’t free.

          • benji

            What freedom?

        • Pat Medley

So much for right to work states

        • Antonio Brent

First, expressing a personal opinion about something going on in other states (or not, in this case) could be considered disruptive behavior. If they took it as a nonsensical rant about something not related to work during a meeting, I could see them saying he’s unfit for duty. It would be like going to a sexual harassment meeting at work and talking about the cheerleader competition.
Second, I’m not sure whistle-blowers should be paid more (or at all). However, I’ve known whistle-blowers. They thought that, since they were protected under the Whistle-Blower’s Protection Act, they were untouchable. One guy actually fell asleep on a forklift going in circles. I don’t care if he reported drugs being distributed on the trucks (just an example; he actually reported air quality issues in the plant), falling asleep while driving a lift is grounds for termination.

          • Robyn Ryan

Too much ‘compliance.’. Not enough critical thinking.

          • Antonio Brent

Not really. If you go to work and interrupt their precious nonsense meetings for your own rants, you’re going to piss someone off and you will eventually be let go. It seems worse in right to work states, but happens. If you were referring to the part about whistle-blowers, the protection act doesn’t give you free reign to do as you please; if you don’t do your job, they make room for someone that will.

          • Robyn Ryan

I already took early retirement after the first oil war from low tolerance to inane BS. you’re preaching to the choir. Way back when we had Civil Service and Unions, they acted as a real world counter weight to management thick headedness.
The root of the problem is State legislators, who have no Civil Service to stand between them and privateers. So they are clueless drones, pushing whatever bills ALEC writes for them.

We are on a steep vertical course to being the next wage slave nation, since our population is too undereducated to realize they are being sold down the river.
It may already be to late for some regions, where ‘right to work’ legislation has abandoned residents to their own devices.
The purpose of American government is to protect citizens from exploitation by corporations and organized religion.

      • George McGnarly

        lol that’s dumb.

      • Billy “The WiZaRd” Angus

Well, Gov. Snyder can kiss my @$$!!
We, The People, shall NEVER conform to his draconian policy..
We’re gonna continue to speak out and slam the
Far Right fuddy-duddy to the mat!!
Snyder is a dictator and he should be overthrown,
brought to justice, tried, convicted, and EXECUTED
for his crimes against Nature and humanity,
and high treason against the state, the U.S. and
        the American people!!

      • my5cents

Freedom of speech is still in the U.S. Constitution. He cannot do that.

      • rnprn

        Like Wississippi!

      • General89

        Is he a dictator

      • Lauralei99

        Is that law legal?

      • TomLegare

The law can’t stand that’s a direct violation of free speech, remember the 1st amendment?

    • Antonio Brent

You realize that D and R are both as full of feces as the other, don’t you? Neither party actually gives a rat’s ass about the people as long as they get their protection money from your check.

      • Viir Exeter

The only here one here full of feces is you. NO, both Parties are not the same. Democrats want national, lifesaving healthcare (like all of the rest of the civilized world). Republicans do not. Democrats want equal rights for women. Republicans do not. Democrats want equal rights for gays. Republicans do not. Democrats want equal pay for women. Republicans do not. Democrats want (and created—Roosevelt) Social Security and Medicare and Johnson-Medicare/Medicaid. Republicans want to utterly privatize and do away with those lifesaving, critical institutions. “Small government” Republicans want to legislate everything in everyone’s lives, get into women’s uteruses, issue mandatory, invasive ultrasounds, regulate who people can marry, tell people what they can do in their own bedrooms and with whom. Democrats subscribe to a live-and-let-live, stay-out-of-people’s-personal-lives mentality—Democrats say women have the rights to their own bodies. Republicans do not. Democrats want regulations (laws) that protect the environment and the health of the American People. Republicans want to dismantle all of those laws that protect said environment and American People so that the crimes perpetuated by corporations in dumping cancer-causing agents into the water systems, etcetera, can get away with it. It’s crystal clear for anyone who has eyes to see and a brain with which to think.

        • Robert Skinner

Viir Exeter, So if Democrats want equal pay, why didn’t President Obama set the example in his executive office staff? Every woman was not paid as much as men. Could you show me were any Republican wants to legislate the peoples lives, Republicans just don’t think they should have to pay for your birth control or abortion etc! Democrats want laws to protect the environment, yet the same people that voted and ask for the EPA agency have seem to dismiss the fact that an EPA official poisoned a Colorado river! Liberal bias and right-wing biased is what is wrong with this country. I don’t care if you’re a D or an R, if is quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it is a duck. People get so fixated on political party versus what is right for all the people.

          • Antonio Brent

            Well said

          • Frances Wilson

There is more to salary’s than you are aware of. Credentials, experience, and pay scales and caps already in place before he got there….it’s called budgeting a position not a person. And yes they do want to regulate lives…don’t want to pay for BC or abortions but want us to pay for their Viagra. So perhaps we need a changing of the guard throughout the entire system…..good luck with that.

        • Antonio Brent

Wow…I’ve talked to people whose ignorance could have been contagious, but you need to be in quarantine!
Democrats want equal rights for women? Why do Democrats in Congress (Pelosi for one) say that women being raped should just pee themselves and not try to kill their attacker? National health care is a joke; me going to the hospital once today costs me 20 times what it would have cost 20 years ago, so their health care sucks; as a side note, if obamacare is so great, why are elected officials exempt? Everywhere I have worked in my life, women either made the same or more than the men, so the equal pay thing is just so retards like you keep following blindly. Also, with equal rights for women, why then were Republican-ran states granting women equal rights before the federal government which was ran by Democrats? (look it up)
I’m not sure if you are aware of this (or as oblivious as you seem to reality), but you never said Democrats want equal rights FOR ALL! If they truly want equal rights for gays, where are the arrests for the attack on the LGBT parade in TX last year by Muslims? Do they only want equal rights for gays as long as the gays don’t offend their other perpetual victim? Where are the straight pride parades?
Republicans and Democrats alike want to control what happens in your bedroom. This is not a bad thing always; without that, what would stop a pedophile from raping every 6 yr old or whatever they want? The difference is, however, Republicans don’t think that, if you pick up a woman from a bar and have sex with her, you should be charged with rape. There is no evidence that either party was drunk or sober, but the woman just has to say she was drunk and she’s the victim.
Now, for the environment. Using junk science, you can say anything you want. If they cared about the environment, why did Obama fire one of his top environmental scientists when she said the impact of human on climate change was negligible? Could it be that Democrats want only those that follow blindly to be among them? If Democrats cared so much, why did they blow a hole in a mine to release toxic water into the Colorado River? Or, is this another fact that Dems refuse to see because it shines a blinding light on the hypocrisy of the party, much like saying “It’s Bush’s fault” when someone is talking about Obama’s crimes? Bush didn’t sell illegal guns to the drug cartels to be used to kill U.S. citizens, but Obama did. How was that Bush’s fault?
If you want to have a reasonable discussion about the evils of both parties, I’m game. However, if all you want to do is allow the same feces to spew forth from your mind that has come from Dem supporters for years without any real facts (other than hearsay you heard from your slave masters in the party), please keep quiet; adults are trying to have a conversation.

          • Rebecca Kleitz

            tl;dr
Also, you have a mental illness, don’t you?
Not taking your meds, either, are you?

Just so you know–we’re all laughing at you.

          • Antonio Brent

You just proved you are an ignorant liberal sheep that only spews the same BS that your masters tell you to say. You forgot to call me racist and sexist, but I guess you’re libtarded, so they only give you a bit at a time to say.
As for mental illness, I am psychologically normal, although a bit more rational and less emotional than most. Also, you do realize that 1% of the population would qualify as being a psychopath, don’t you? Which means, odds are you talk to at least 1 psychopath a day and don’t even realize it.
Now, for meds. No, I do not take the pain meds for my surgery or the anti-inflammatory for my tendinitis, but that’s because I don’t like the listed side effects. Plus, I’m not a whiny little wanker like you that goes crying when someone hurts my feelings, begging for medicine to make the butt-hurt go away. I will take meds if I have to, but as long as I’m not doubled over in pain, I’m good.
As for you all laughing at me, herein lies the difference between vapid airheads like you and people like me: I don’t give a rat’s ass what anyone thinks about me. I’m not sleeping with you, you don’t pay my bills, you don’t sign my paycheck, and you don’t decide if I have a job tomorrow, so I honestly would be able to watch the majority of you get ran over by a train and not even stop drinking my coffee. Since the average intelligence of this country has dropped 20 points over 20 years, 20 years ago you would actually have been considered retarded. If all the people that think like you got ran over by the same train, I’d figure out how to get the conductor a big cash bonus for increasing the average intelligence in this country. So, whereas YOU might be worried if someone is laughing at your retarded bull, I really don’t care what you think. Now, why don’t you go squeeze into your tent-suit and go do something.

    • Hojo

You realize it’s a satire site right?

      • excelsior

Satire my ass!!This BASTARD thinks he can get away with anything…he has been playing “king Rickey” for far to long. You do know children with lead poisoning have behavior problems and physical problems…JUST WHAT OL’ IMPERIAL RICKEY WANTS…MORE CANDIDATES FOR HIS ‘PRISON ‘ SYSTEM.. I HOPE “karma” tears him and his FAMILY a new asshole!!

        • Hojo

          lol

        • disqus_GKwzrLoNB5

I’m with you they need to put him away for life. He actually caused the deaths of many people and that fake act of remorse was pitiful. Send him to FLINT and make him and his family drink that water and bathe in it. Make sure they wash their eyes each time. Hopefully it will take care of the snyder gene pool. We never want to see another snyder on this earth. NO MORE SNYDER”S PUT GOVERNOR LUCIFER SNYDER IN JAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • George McGnarly

          lol typical liberal drone.

          • medcannabis1

George… this is not an issue of trolling… but a criminal enterprise being run out of the Governors office by a group of oligarchs who have run Michigan like their private fiefdom
This is neither a conservative or progressive issue… but one of criminal conduct and enrichment of a small group of friends of the Governor who have pillaged the state of MI

          • George McGnarly

You lost me at trolling. You are obviously a drone as well.

          • Dave Foster

I know I know, you NAZI republicans can’t handle FACTS!

      • Rob Bailey

Get it. But the R-word has to be retired.

    • Viir Exeter

Profits over human lives, it’s the Republican way.

      • Robert Skinner

I just can’t see how you can only blame one guy, when there is a 7 panel city council prior to installing the city manager. Why was the CM installed, maybe the failure of the 7 member Democrats that failed the citizens of Flint? Just speculation.

        • Martha Cooper

The republican with the collusion of dems drove our economy off the rails, allowed Flints jobs to go out of this country and now you are blaming the city council for governing a city with no money?

        • Pat Medley

You are partially right but a massive infrastructure project is in order. Two wrongs do not make any of this right. People are suffering and children may have long lasting brain damage. Flint is not the only city.
So congress stop putting bandaids on these problems.

        • Robyn Ryan

          spare me….

          • Robert Skinner

You think with a PhD you would come up with a better statement than that, but then again you were in the Air Force.

      • Antonio Brent

No, it’s the politician’s way. If you want to argue that, look at planned parenthood funding (supported primarily by Democrats). They get half a billion in federal funds a year, make a hefty profit from the sale of the parts, so should lose their non-profit status, but because they donate to Democrat candidates, they seem to ignore the fact that they are in fact ending life. I’m not getting into a debate over when life starts, just going strictly medical: if there is a heartbeat, there is life.

        • Tammi Maitland Walker Graber
          • Antonio Brent

Why? Because one former director testified in front of Congress that they were selling the fetuses for $100, or because the current fuhrer of PP says they only recoup costs? Either way, it is illegal to sell the tissue. They still sell tissue, although only from 2 sites today. Therefor, they are still in violation of the National Organ Transplant Act of 1984 section 301 because they are exchanging organs/tissue for valuable consideration. If not, then there is no reason I shouldn’t be allowed to sell my kidney to the highest bidder, since I’ve store and kept safe my organs all my life.
Of course, this is all new to you and your ilk. Using laws and applying them equally goes against everything your vapid airheaded type seems to understand; after all, if laws a enforced evenly, then special interest groups wouldn’t get a free pass for their ignorant and abhorrent behavior.

        • medcannabis1

STAY ON TOPIC … another village idiot troll

          • Antonio Brent

Hey genius, the topic changed with Tammi Maitland Walker Graber’s reply. Maybe you should step away from the bong for a few minutes before you try to jump into a conversation

          • Rebecca Kleitz

Maybe, before you post again, you should actually try HAVING sex.
You probably wouldn’t be so against it, maybe?
But then, with your crappy attitude, you’d probably have to knock someone out before they’d have sex with you.
I’d bet even hookers look at you and gag.

          • Antonio Brent

Says the person with no picture. By the way, I have sex and have nothing against sex; I just don’t see why anyone should take money out of my pocket to pay for you to have an abortion because one of the 50 guys you banged last night impregnated you.

        • Barbara Manson

Do you ever listen to reputable news sources? Educate yourself sir!

          • Antonio Brent

Do tell. What did I say that was incorrect? PL 98-507 (National Organ Transplant Act of 1984) outlaws the exchange of human organs or tissue for valuable consideration. With it being a law, you can look it up. If a law is applied to some but not all, then the law should not be valid. Is that where I’m wrong? Because I believe any law that applies only to some is unjust? If that’s the case, are you saying Jim Crow laws were just?
If they are allowed to sell organs and tissue for valuable consideration, even if it “only covers storage and transport”, then why is it not just as valid for me to sell a kidney for millions, since I have been storing it and transporting it for over 40 years?
Was I wrong when I quoted PP and said they only sold from 2 locations? If I was wrong, maybe you should get after them about correcting their information.
As for reputable news sources, there are none left. All media is either slanted too far left (“Obama is great!”) or too far right (“Obama and Congress need to be executed for treason!”). I might listen to both extremes of propaganda, but then I check things myself. Unfortunately, this is a talent not used by many today, since Dems only want to attack anyone that disagrees with them and call us racists, and Republicans only want to insult those that disagree with them. Both sides are equally retarded; actually, even the kids on the short bus are offended for being compared to you political zealots

          • ron

@antonio Brent; Sorry but what PP was and has been doing is perfectly legal, They are entitled to recoup costs (not to be confused with sell for profit) and they have done this with the DONORS PERMISSION. They also provide a tremendous amount of health care services to people that may not be able to get them otherwise. The fact that they receive reimbursement through Medicaide doe snot (in my mind) mean we are paying them for illegal services anymore than those payments for like services would be illegal to all the other providers we pay for identical services. Yoi may read from many sources but I question your ability to comprehend what you have read.

          • Antonio Brent

The law doesn’t say you cannot sell for profit; it says you cannot sell for valuable consideration. So, let me break this down. If I pay $20k for a new car, and pay cash, the car becomes mine to do with as I will. Say, a week later, I sell that same car to my neighbor for $250. I took a major loss, but I am still transferring the car to someone for valuable consideration (being cash in this case; it would be valuable consideration regardless of what I got in return).
Now, to your statement about providing services. With Obamacare, everyone is supposed to have insurance, so they can go to a real doctor. You just proved PP outlived their usefulness. As for Medicaid paying them for services, PP only has to do with sex. If someone is on Medicaid, maybe they should be more worried about finding a job than having sex.

          • ron

your statement only shows you do not read and comprehend the issue very well. PP provides a great service to many who need it and if you are a true republican then why not appreciate the competition since all clinics make their living off some form of third party payment. right ??

          • Antonio Brent

First, I’m not a republican. I am no party. I am an individual that believes in individual freedoms as long as the individual isn’t going into my wallet to pay for their choices. Second, you are only proving you don’t understand. PP, according to their website, does abortions (sex related), birth control (unnecessary unless you’re having sex), and STD treatment/education (you don’t get STD’s from going to a book reading). So, everything they deal with is sex-related. Good or bad, it is sex related. Since you want to say enjoy the competition, then legalize prostitution across the board; after all, everything they do is probably sex related.
That being said, you are also avoiding the whole selling tissue and organs part. I don’t care if the pope sold the vatican to feed and shelter those in need. If he sells a kidney to help a few more people, he is still in violation of the law and should face the same penalty as anyone else that tries to sell an organ. So why does PP get a pass on the law? I don’t really care about abortion either way (hell, some of the people I work with I hope never breed), but the selling of the parts for valuable consideration (which means something offered that would have any monetary value) is still a violation of the law. It might be different if it stayed in one state (which would eliminate the feds’ authority on the issue), but then you have to look at state laws and see if they are violating state law.
Try to keep up and pay attention. I haven’t been in elementary in decades; I don’t want to have to explain everything like I did then

          • ron

again, you missed the part where the women gave consent and the law does allow for them to recoup their expense.. not to make a profit and they have been cleared of any wrong doing in at least 5 different investigations and they provide services to people that need them and I am sorry you don’t believe in sex,but , most people do engage in it and it does not require your permission or mine for that matter. If they were in any violation of any law the bible thumping republicans would be on it like a bad habit but I do believe the investigation in Texas resulted in the founder of CMP was indicted not PP.

          • Antonio Brent

Again, it gets back to if I sell a kidney for $1 million, I gave consent and could say I am just recouping costs. I don’t care about abortion. I just don’t see how a law applied to only some could still be a law. It is no different than other laws that have been thrown out because it violated the rights of some

          • Doug Sanders

Antonio isn’t off the rails … there weren’t any rails in the first place. Just another troll.

Zygotes and fetuses aren’t humans. The women who own those fertilized eggs are.

        • ajvosburgh

And evangelical mega churches should keep their non profit status?

          • Antonio Brent

Actually, there should be no non-profit status. The tax system is so jacked up, we’d be better off just scrapping it and starting over.

        • Cheryl MacMillan Braathen

And you are an idiot. Can a fetus live outside the womb at 4 weeks .. 8 weeks …12 weeks …that would be a NO it is not viable…and ask the 2 they just arrested about the fake video on the sale of the body parts.

          • Antonio Brent

And you are a mindless twit that only goes by what your masters say. If you collapse and go to the hospital, but you are not breathing. You have a heartbeat. Medically, you are still alive. Or, do you think, in that situation, since you are not viable at that point, they should just dig a hole and dump you in? Your logic, while it holds some merit, does not mean that it is not medically alive.
As for the arrests, there are 2 flaws here on your part:
1)Those that were arrested were not arrested for making a fake video. They were arrested because the grand jury said, while PP never actually sold anything on the video (talking about it is not breaking the law), they decided the film makers had broken the law by using fake ID’s to gain access and violated the NOTA by asking them to sell the parts. PP admits to selling fetal tissue and organs, but only to recoup cost. As long as money (valuable consideration) is exchanged for the parts, it still violates NOTA. Try learning something before you continue to rant about that which you know nothing apparently a myriad of topics)

This is a calculated move to boost Michigan’s Prison System..(they think in long terms)…Children with lead poisoning have behavior and physical problems….Start tracking them in kindergarten and deliver them to the ‘PRISON SYSTEM’ BY HIGHSCHOOL …(there is method in their madness)..

      • Darnel L. Williams

    • Antonio Brent

Funny, twisting “Libtard” to insult the tea party. However, anyone that blindly supports or opposes any group simply based on a D or R are beyond the short bus; even the special education kids would call them retarded. I’m not saying I support Snyder, or even care. I’m simply saying that the appointed manager is responsible for this, not the governor directly. Quit trying to turn this into a political bull war

      • We don’t need to insult the filthy tea bagging party, they do it themselves. Fuhrer Snyder implemented the Emergency Fascist Manager. He is 100% responsible. The people said no to EFM’s, he told the people to {Insert F bomb here} off.

Now that we got that taken care of, what are you, a libertarian?

        • Antonio Brent

The emergency manager is what happens when a city runs itself into the ground because they pass ordinances that drive away people and business, yet can’t cut spending. Snyder appointed him, but when a manager is hired (business, government, whatever), the manager is expected to do their job. If a manager at Wal Mart tries to make people stay in the building during a tornado warning, the CEO of the company is not charged with kidnapping or false imprisonment; only that manager is responsible for their criminal acts unless there is evidence of prior knowledge or approval by the CEO. Using the logic that Snyder should be charged for what his appointee did, then Obama should be charged with treason and murder over the guns Holder sold to drug cartels that were used to kill U.S. citizens in Fast and Furious scandal. Of course the people said no, because nobody wants to admit the idiots they voted for are worthless.

As for my political party, that would be none. I would say I’m an actual constitutionalist, where I believe powers and rights of the federal government cannot go beyond what is in the Constitution. The state constitutions limit state’s rights.

          • montkathy

Why do you think Snyder is trying to hide what he knew & when?

      • montkathy

No. Snyder appointed the EM, Darnell Earley, in Flint. Thus, he co-signed & approved every decision that Early made. Earley was responsible to serve Snyder & Snyder alone.

        • Antonio Brent

So, Snyder actually signed papers saying Flint would start using water from Flint River? Or, are you saying that because he appointed Earley he is responsible? If Snyder had to sign off on everything, he should be removed from office just for being a micro-manager

        • Robert Skinner

Your logic is along the lines since if you’ve children and they commit a murder, you’re responsible? Even if he or she is 30 years old? Did I follow your logic through my metaphor?

    • Robert Skinner

      Nor a liberal loon!

      • Says the filthy tea bagger

        • Robert Skinner

A tea bagger? no leftist loon, just I know where to put the blame, and that is squarely on the 7 panel Democratic party.

          • Says the filthy teabagger again.

          • Robert Skinner

Again Lucy the Loon, I’m not a tea party member. But great but typical come back from a leftist loon. Wow, 7 member panel but still blame the big bad Republicans. Ha, yet the problem hasn’t been improved and still keep voting them into office. I especially like that there is a convicted murderer on the panel. Wow, but it is the Republicans. Just wow smh.

          • Any idiot that keeps using leftist loon has to hecaxfilthyvtea bagging idiot.

          • Robert Skinner

Lucy, you sure do try, calling me a tea bagger even though I have told you three times that I’m not shows your comprehension ability. Idiot twice in the same sentence too, wow! Yet you don’t deny or try to mitigate or justify the actions of your beloved Democratic party. You didn’t even deny that there is a murderer on the panel! Typical whackado behavior. Nice try! I will stop calling you a LEFTIST LOON when you will except that the actions of Democratic party continue to destroy American cities. If you can name one vibrant city ran by a Democrat with a low crime rate I will digress.

          • Republicans are destroying this country. Let me guess, you and your republicans need to create more laws to gut the uterus to save Murika!!!!

          • Robert Skinner

What are you talking about? Do you think before you write? “gut the uterus to save Murika!!!” What does that mean? Coherent thought please. In response to Republicans destroying America, yes under Democratic leadership for 7 years, median income wage down, less take home money every month, 18 trillion in debt, but Republicans are destroying America? This President and our Last President have had out of control spending and the working class is getting hammered. First time home buyers are down, people have dropped out of the work force because they’re tired of looking and being told no. Islamic threats are at our doorstep but Republicans are destroying America.

          • Because you’re incapable of seeing what’s going on.

  • scott

Nice! Welcome to the new Tea Party Infused America folks! It’s bracing! It’s pungent! It’s not hard to swallow! If you’re rich.

  • Joseph J Green

This better be true or I’m gonna kick your ass!

  • Lucky O’Toole

It’s a fake SATIRE story, folks!

    • Some of this story is satire, however, it is based on reality of what has been going on in Flint for some time. And the water was not safe well before they hooked back up to the Flint River. The water came from the popes-no cracks in my pipelines-yellow/brown in color for at least 6-8 years before the change. I know, I lived in the same house over 42 years in Flint. Finally moved 18 months and 5 days ago from there. I have well water now and it is clear.
And as someone who has attended some of the congressional meetings in the past in Lansing, I would not doubt that Snyder said something similar to this in the company of his cronies. That is the Teabagger-Republican mindset.

  • Drew
  • RJL

This tragedy in Flint is not something the Satira Tribune should be setting up innocent readers with; let’s focus on the trouble makers like Moore, who certainly doesn’t live IN Flint, or Al Sharpton, or…! Let’s somehow fix the problem or strive to, like our granddaughter’s school in Bay City, who held a water bottle drive for Flint.

I can attest to that, as I am a fly on the wall often.

  • galivantstom

Is any body surprised? After all, he is in the same party as Romney and holds the same beliefs. You can bet he and his friends in the legislature will tell the lead poisoned, brain damaged children of Flint to go to hell. You can bet the state will not acknowledge any responsibility on its part. You can rest assured none Michigan’s tax dollars will be spent. The children of Flint have been screwed, the people of Flint have been screwed and businesses have been screwed. They have lost and will continue to lose customers to surrounding areas. After all would you eat in a restaurant where the water pipe might give you and your children lead poisoning? The real estate industry has been damaged big time and may not recover for years to come. Anyone looking to sell property in the Flint area until they is some documentable proof, and not from the State of Michigan that their property’s water system clean. If we, adults and children can survive it, his term will be up in two years. Thank God, he’s term limited. In two years we can say good riddance and don’t let the door hit you on the way!

  • ws823

Here is my attempt at a ballad in remembrance of the Lead Poisoning of Flint. I hope it inspires some real musicians to create a song that will be played by Michigan radio stations every year to remember what happened in Flint. Just like we remember the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald every year. Lead Poisoning of Flint: Pure Michigan. Never Forget.

  • Frank Fjs

An my opinion, anyone who drinks water from ANY system unfiltered is indeed foolish. I’ve been using a filter for the last 30+ years. Why? Because the data back then stated the water was not healthy. And you never knew when someone would cut a corner. Well, isn’t that what Flint city managers did?

  • Antonio Brent

Here’s a question: why do people want blood for this, yet wanted nothing done about Benghazi, Fast and Furious, illegal Executive orders, or anything else obama has pulled? Could it be that some idiots are so entrenched in their political parties (both sides) that anyone not with them needs to be crucified, but Hitler or Osama Bin Laden could run for their party candidate and they would be beyond reproach?
If that’s the case (rather than looking at everything equally, you have to find out what party the person is with) then you might as well drink from the Flint River…there really would be no way for you to be any more retarded.

    • Skeptical

Yeah, yeah, you aren’t a rightwing conservative at all… Although in your comments you sure managed to squeeze in nearly every modern rightwing CONservative CONspiracy. Even worse than a CONservative is a CONservative that pretends to not be a CONservative, AND a CONstitutional expert to boot. Get a backbone Antonio and claim who you really stand with. Unless you are scared or ashamed of who you really are?

      • Antonio Brent

I stand for the constitution. Bush and Obama both should have been taken out of office. Any politician, regardless of party, should be held accountable to the constitution and immediately impeached when they try to assume powers not in the constitution, including presidents that use E.O. to create laws (E.O. are not powers granted in the constitution anyway). However, when a republican does something wrong, Dems are out for blood. When a Dem screws the pooch, R wants blood.
Now, if you would care to read my previous statement again, I was pointing out that people from BOTH parties want blood whenever the other side screws up a bit, but wants nothing done regardless of what their party person has done. You and other sheeple for obama want Snyder fired and arrested for something an appointee did. Yet, if anyone points out that Holder sold guns to drug cartels (treason) which were then used to kill U.S. citizens (border patrol) on U.S. soil so either him or obama or both need to be arrested tried and executed for treason, you scream racist. You really want to know what’s driving this country down the toilet? It isn’t R or D; it is those of you that blindly support R or D and refuse to see that criminal activity from either party should be equally prosecuted. I’ve heard more people claiming to be R say that baby Bush should have been impeached or tried for war crimes than registered D that said anything bad about obama.

  • Caryn WIllis

Okay – this is enough evidence for me – it’s time to choose – a noose or a guillotine. The guillotine would be appropriate for The Grand Duke of Michigan – what with his aristocratic “let them eat cake attitude” – he really believes he is superior – far, far, above the citizens in Flint. What a disgusting inhumane creature – poisons people with lead in the water supply and jokes about it to his rich aristocratic Repub friends.

I am beginning to think the corrupt governor snyder did conspire to hurt all those people in Flint because they are primarily Democrats. He and his Tea party friends seem to be stopping the Democrats at every turn. We wanted to recall him years ago but he appointed the committee that says “YES” or “NO” no recalls. Who is going to say yes on that committee to let us recall him. Things are coming to a head now and we want justice. We want is A** in jail and we are going to do everything in our power to make sure that happens. We would really like to have him move his family to Flint and make them drink that water and bathe in it. We want them to clean their eyes out with that water every single day. We want that water to make sure the Snyder Gene pool never moves further than the children who are already here. NO MORE CORRUPT SNYDERS EVER! PUT GOVERNOR RICK SNYDER IN JAIL THAT LIAR.

The Michigan poisoning began after REPUBLICAN Snyder appointed an unelected emergency dictator who switched the city’s water source to the long-polluted Flint River in a bid to save money as the state faces yet another budget shortfall due to corporate tax cuts. (Snyder finally acted and declared a state of emergency; but ONLY after learning federal prosecutors had opened an investigation into the deliberate lead poisoning). The poisoning began when an unelected emergency dictator, appointed by Snyder, switched Flint’s water to a poisoned source to save money to cover the state’s budget shortfall and protect Snyder’s corporate tax-cut gift to his donors. Snyder knew about the toxic water long before the switch was made; Hell, anyone who is conscious knew the Flint River has been toxic for ages. In fact, Snyder was well aware of the lead-tainted water before the federal prosecutor decided to take action and long before Snyder claims he learned he was poisoning children.

It is greatly appreciated how celebrities and public figures have been directly donating bottled water or cash money to purchase bottled water for Flint. Thank you all, so very much. If I may make a request to these Patrons.

Please pool your funds an offer a $1 million dollar BOUNTY to WHISTLE BLOWERS who provides information leading to the ARREST and/or CONVICTION of any parties involved in the poisoning of Flint. The people involved in this tragedy are motivated by money, so money will loosen their lips. Thank you for your consideration.

Any WHISTLE BLOWERS would have to be fully vetted by the Justice Department, this is a FEDERAL rap.

I imagine there would be full immunity offered, with the REWARD being paid out as per the terms and conditions of THE REWARD, I leave that to the LAWYERS.

THE REWARD, which could actually grow like a lottery, let’s call it JUSTICE BALL.

This will continue to focus national liberal media on the plight of Flint in the long months to come once folks have succumbed to “bottled water media reporting fatigue”. (Imagine the bottled water fatigue the folks in Flint will be suffering from in the long months to come.)

THE REWARD. will allow Patrons and regular citizens the oppurtunity to leverage their financial power against the perpetrators of the Poisoning of Flint.

Where there is Dark Money influencing American Political Life, now there can be Light Money to bolster the cause of justice and goodness.

THE REWARD. will influence the Gang of Grifters responsible for this tragedy. These are operatives that are motivated by money and self-interest.

A low level operative like former Mayor Dayne Walling, the man who pushed THE BUTTON, may be temped to talk to Attorney General Lorreta Lynch if his financial future is secured and he has full immunity from prosecution.

THE REWARD drives paranoia into the Gang of Grifters, and their conspiracy can be shattered as each wonders who will be the first to claim THE REWARD.
