After paying his $1 million bail and surrendering his US passport, comedian Bill Cosby drove from Philadelphia to the Miami, jumped on a friends boat to Cuba where he had a separate passport waiting for him. He flew from Havana to Moscow, Russia and is now housed at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Cosby was arraigned on two sexual assault charges stemming from 2004 that took place at his Philadelphia suburban mansion. With over 40 accusations against the celebrity, a local prosecutor was able to get two of them to finally stick.
Cosby immediately surrendered to authorities, posted his million dollar bail easily, and fled to Russia within the day.
BBC News asked the Kremlin for a response; they replied, “Putin loved the Cosby Show. He watches it every Sunday night to unwind.”
Asked if Russia will extradite Cosby back to the United States, Russia said, “We fear for the black men in America. Their human rights are continually attacked and infringed upon by the government and police. At this time, we don’t think it safe to send Mr. Cosby back to America.
“Russia has high morals and his extradition would betray our beliefs.”
The story is ongoing as the White House looks into these findings.
